Outreach will hold its next national gathering, Outreach 2026, at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., from June 19-21, 2026, the LGBTQ Catholic ministry announced today.
“We are delighted to be returning to Georgetown University next year,” said Michael J. O’Loughlin, executive director of Outreach. “We look forward to a dynamic and inspiring weekend of prayer, networking and celebrating the LGBTQ Catholic community, and we couldn’t be more grateful to our partners at Georgetown for generously hosting us again.”
The 2026 conference will include a number of keynote speakers, panels and Masses. Outreach will also mark its fifth anniversary during the conference. The first conference took place virtually in 2021, with subsequent events being held at Fordham University in New York City and last year at Georgetown.
“We’re so grateful to Georgetown for their warm welcome and hospitality. President Emeritus Jack DeGioia and Secretary of the University Marie Mattson were early supporters of our ministry and we’re so grateful to return to the ‘Hilltop’,” said James Martin, S.J., Outreach’s founder.
Georgetown University, home to one of the first LGBTQ resource centers at a Catholic university in the United States and the lead sponsor of Outreach 2024, has again signed on to support Outreach 2026.
Outreach will solicit ideas for speakers, panels and workshops later this year and registration is expected to open in early 2026. Those interested in pitching ideas and registering are encouraged to sign up for Outreach’s weekly emails.
The previous national gathering, Outreach 2024, also held at Georgetown University, attracted more than 370 registrations and featured several keynote speakers as well as a Mass celebrated by Cardinal Wilton Gregory.
At the conclusion of the conference, Outreach announced that the national gathering would convene every other year, in order to focus on a range of regional programming in between conferences. This year, Outreach is hosting a three-day retreat in June at Daylesford Abbey in Pennsylvania and a pilgrimage to Rome during the Jubilee Holy Year—both of which sold out quickly—and other in-person and virtual events are in the works.
