Gaudete

Celebrating welcoming parishes, schools and communities
About Gaudete
Gaudete is the Latin word for “Rejoice” and is perhaps best known to Catholics through Gaudete Sunday, the third Sunday of Advent. On that day, the opening words of the Entrance Antiphon of the Mass are “Gaudete in Domino semper,” from the Letter to the Philippians, in which St. Paul exhorts the Christian community in Philippi: “Rejoice in the Lord always! I say again, ‘Rejoice!” (4:4).

In this section, we rejoice in the parishes, schools and communities who provide a welcoming home in the church of LGBTQ people, so that they too may be Christians who rejoice always!
