Outreach will host an hour-long webinar panel event promoting positive mental health strategies for LGBTQ Catholics and their families during the holiday season on Wednesday Nov. 18, 2026 at 8:00 pm ET. Advance registration is required for this event.
Though the holidays are traditionally a time of joy, for many LGBTQ Catholics, the celebrations of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day can be a time of uncertainty and daunting firsts. From navigating hard conversations around the dinner table, attending a religious service in an unwelcoming environment or discerning a safe community, the holidays can be a difficult time of year for many LGBTQ people of faith and their families.

Join Master of Social Work student Desiré Findlay and psychologist Mary Kate Roohan, PsyD, RDT, for a webinar panel discussion where they will share practical and helpful tips for LGBTQ Catholics and their families during the holiday season.
Desiré Findlay is a Master of Social Work student, spiritual director, dancer and writer currently living in the Chicago area with her wife and their rescue pup, Beau.

Dr. Roohan is a clinical psychologist, drama therapist, and the founder of Thrive and Feel, a therapy practice in Pasadena, California. As a queer therapist, she says she is passionate about supporting LGBTQ people by creating collaborative, healing spaces where clients can be their most authentic selves.
Viewers will have the opportunity to submit questions and the event will be recorded.
