It is my hope and prayer that the recent Vatican declaration may bring queer Catholics, many of whom have felt excluded from the church, back into communion with fellow believers.

I have to remind myself of the hope of Easter and that God’s sacrifice is for all of us, no matter our race, gender, ethnicity or background.

From Pope Francis’ comments about supporting same-sex civil marriages to his apologies for the damage done by the church to the LGBTQ community, I am thankful to be a Catholic as I witness progress in our church.
