For LGBTQ Catholics, going home for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day can be a time of uncertainty. Join Outreach for a special virtual event with Mary Kate Roohan, PsyD, RDT, who will share skills for navigating the reality of being an LGBTQ person of faith amid family members and religious communities who may differ in allyship to the LGBTQ community. This hour-long virtual event, “Home for the Holidays: Coping Strategies for LGBTQ Catholics,” will offer time for learning and community building. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions before the event.
Dr. Roohan is a clinical psychologist, drama therapist, and the founder of Thrive and Feel, a therapy practice in Pasadena, California. As a queer therapist, she says she is passionate about supporting LGBTQ people by creating collaborative, healing spaces where clients can be their most authentic selves.
“Home for the Holidays: Coping Strategies for LGBTQ Catholics” will take place on Wed., Nov. 20, 2024, at 8:00 P.M. E.T. and registration is free. Complete the form below to sign up for the event.
